Annie McCaffrey, Yoga Therapist & Postpartum Doula

About Embodied Care

Annie McCaffrey is a yoga therapist and postpartum doula in training, based in Burlington, VT. With a bachelors degree in Health Sciences: Community Health, from Keene State College, Annie left her undergrad days with mixed emotions. While this major was inspiring and covered many important topics in the health and wellness world, it suddenly felt way too broad upon graduation in 2015. The next few years were a journey of self discovery, and deciding where exactly she belonged in this profession.  After completing her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2016, she went on to teach locally in Burlington and at music and yoga festivals in the Vermont area. That sense of belonging seemed to come closer into reach, but something was still a little off. Taking on yoga therapy training with Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy in 2018 led to a deeper understanding of self, and granted her a new approach to yoga. It was a yoga practice free from form, from right and wrong, from comparison and judgment. This was it. This is what was missing from her structured yoga classes. This sense of freedom and autonomy is what she knew she wanted to help others find and achieve. This is what she wanted to help people take off the mat, and into their every day lives. With only two online courses left to go until completing her 600 hour training, Annie is now offering online zoom sessions on a sliding scale. On top of that, she is also currently working through DONA's postpartum doula training so she can help caregivers everywhere to find support in conjunction with a yoga practice that fits their needs as they grow with baby. With a firm belief that yoga does not look any one way, Annie is on a mission to help people get in touch with their needs in an embodied way.

Yoga Therapy: Embodied Movement

Intro Consultation

Set up a consultation with me if you are unfamiliar with yoga therapy. I'll walk you through what a session looks like, and we can talk about any goals you might have. After a consultation, you can decide if I am a right fit for you. If not, I may be able to provide you with other yoga therapists or related providers if desired.

1:1 Sessions

Work with me one on one at a pace that works for you. Chose from meeting with me as frequently as once a week, or once in a blue moon. A typical session is 60 minutes, but can be shorter upon request. At this time, sessions will be virtual through zoom. Please reach out if you prefer an in person session, as they are available at a case by case basis.

Package Deals

It is recommended to have multiple sessions to glean the most benefit from this work. Each session builds on the previous one, and as you become more acquainted with the work, the more you will take from our time together.  Save when you plan ahead and buy 4 sessions or more at a time.

Testimonials

I started seeing Annie about six to seven months ago. I never attended a yoga therapy session and thought this would be a perfect time to get introduced to it. Once I started working with Annie, I realized how helpful yoga therapy is with your mental health. I find her to be very intuitive and knowledgeable about how to put in words what I am trying to verbalize. She finds the movements associated with those words. I highly recommend Annie if you are looking to continue your journey of healing either emotionally, or physically, or both: I think this is a great combination!
